Coeds across the Lone Star State are signing up for "Sugar Daddy" arrangements in a growth spurt significant enough to place three Texas universities in the top 12 nationally, when it comes to the number of students seeking a "partnership" to help pay for college educations.
And, oh goodie, these schools have risen remarkably in the ranks from last year.
SeekingArrangement.com has released its figures from 2015 revealing a growing number of college students utilizing the so-called "Sugar Daddy" on-line mixer as an alternative method of financial aid. Basically, it is paid companionship. Big Daddy or a Momma Cougar helps with your college expenses in exchange for quality time in this "mutually beneficial relationship."
"Sugar Baby students receive an average of $3,000 in monthly allowances," according to a recent release, which boasts that worldwide 1.9 million students are using SeekingArrangement.com, the "world's largest Sugar Daddy dating site."
While CultureMap reported in 2014 that the University of Texas ranked at No. 30 on the list, that school has the dubious honor of now ranking No. 3 with 163 new sign-ups in 2015. The University of Houston was at lowly No. 75 but has charged ahead to No. 12 with 104 new members in 2015. Texas State University in San Marcos which was previously ranked No. 10, now holds sixth position with 138 sign-ups in 2015.
Rounding out the top 10 are New York University, Arizona State, Temple, Kent State, Georgia State, Florida International, Penn State, and Virginia Commonwealth.
SeekingArrangement.com claims that some 1.9 million students are utilitizing "the dating site."
