More Magic boats: Disney adds new Galveston cruises, including ones to itsprivate island
Disney Cruise Line and the Port of Galveston announced a two-year operating agreement just last week, and the Disney Magic is already adding new itineraries to its roster.
On Wednesday, the family-friendly cruise liner revealed a lineup of more vacation options for early 2013. Included on that is a short and sweet four-night Caribbean getaway to Cozumel (starting at $400 per person), with departures from Galveston on Feb. 1 and 5, March 15 and 19, plus April 12 and 16.
If guests don't get a sufficient dose of Disney onboard the themed ship, an eight-night cruise to the Bahamas (starting at $960 per person) offers a stop at Castaway Cay — Disney's private island, of course — and another at Port Canaveral, where guests will have the opportunity to redeem a one-day hopper ticket at the nearby Walt Disney World Resort. That trip, which also makes a call in Key West before its return trip, departs from Galveston on Jan. 18, Feb. 15, March 1 and 29, April 26 and May 10.
"The addition of shorter getaway cruises and voyages that call on our most popular port of call, Disney’s Castaway Cay, rounds out an impressive array of itinerary options from Galveston," Disney Cruise Line president Karl Holz said in a statement.
In addition to the previously-announced six- and eight-night Western Caribbean cruises (starting at $750 and $920 per person, respectively), which begin departures on Sept. 22, the Disney Magic will sail a seven-night route from Galveston to Grand Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel later in 2013.
