Island living gets cheaper: Galveston starts a new discount plan for easygetaways
Need an idea for a quick, affordable summer getaway? The Galveston Island Pass offers a discounted option for discovering what lies beyond the beach of that historic, less-than-a-gas-tank-away destination
The Galveston Island Convention and Visitors Bureau recently launched the initiative, which will give visitors a 40 percent discount on four (or more) island attractions. That amounts to savings of anywhere from 80 cents to $20 on each adult ticket, to each attraction.
Plus, the itinerary can be tailored to personal needs and interests: Traveling with inquisitive children? Select the Moody Gardens Rainforest and Aquarium Pyramids, the Artist Boat Kayak Tours and the Lone Star Flight Museum.
The Galveston Island Pass will be available year-round, with a changing lineup of participants according to season.
Is your boyfriend a history nut? Visit the Haunted Mayfield Manor, the Grand 1894 Opera House, the Moody Mansion and the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum.
The Galveston Island Pass is now available year-round, with a changing lineup of participants according to season.
Each pass remains valid for 30 days after purchase, you can decide whether to cram all of the activities into one weekend or make Galveston your day trip destination throughout the summer.
