Touchdown! Local craft beer to be served at Houston Texans games — and that'sjust the start
Offering local craft beers at sports bars is one thing. Bringing those same brews into the stadiums where sports teams play is something altogether different.
Karbach Brewing Co., which began operations late last summer, is taking steps to get beers on tap at Houston's professional sports venues. (Ronnie Crocker of the Houston Chronicle first reported the news.)
This follows an exclusive deal that the burgeoning Houston microbrewery signed several weeks ago with Silver Eagle Distributors, the largest Anheuser-Busch distributor in the United States, to market and sell its beer in the Houston area.
Texans fans will be able to get some Karbach brews on tap at Reliant Stadium this fall.
That beer behemoth also has a deal with Saint Arnold Brewing Company (Silver Eagle is credited with doubling Texas' oldest craft brewery's business over the last four years), and is hoping to continue expansion of its craft beer portfolio — one that already includes Big Sky Brewing, Magic Hat Brewing Company, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and more.
Houston Texans fans will be able to get some Karbach brews on tap at Reliant Stadium this fall, and Silver Eagle hopes to have Karbach in every sports stadium by the end of the year.
