Here's your excuse to skip work and watch the big World Cup game
Jun 26, 2014 | 8:50 am
You are officially excused from work today to watch the U.S.A. and Germany men's soccer teams play at 11 a.m. in a must-win World Cup match for our guys in red, white and blue.
That's thanks to U.S. soccer coach Jürgen Klinsmann, who has jokingly sent out an absence note via social media. He asks bosses to be understanding of their workers' time off. The best excuse for staying at home or visiting a restaurant or bar to watch the game, Klinsmann believes, is because the team "will need the full support of the nation if we are to advance to the next round."
"By the way," Klinsmann's tweet reads, "you should act like a good leader and take the day off as well. Go USA!"
And don't forget to wear your jersey.
