Sean Salisbury goes national with sports TV show featuring celebrity lineup
Houston is now home to a national TV show. The Sean Salisbury Show, one of the country's top sports radio shows, will be simulcast starting today (April 17) on the beIN SPORTS television network.
The simulcast, which airs weekdays from 4 pm to 6 pm, is the product of a new partnership between Gow Media and beIN SPORTS. The show can be seen in Houston on nearly every major broadcast carrier, including Comcast 726, AT&T 662 and DirectTV 620, and is expected to be viewed in 47 million homes nationally.
“We are really excited about the partnership and the opportunity to give Sean’s radio show a national TV platform,” said David Gow, CEO of Gow Media, the parent company of CultureMap. “The TV show is a significant step for our company, as we can now offer our advertising partners radio, digital media and television – and we can do so on a local, regional or national basis.”
Launched in 2012, beIN SPORTS is the fastest growing cable network in the United States and is offered on the 10 largest cable/satellite TV providers in the nation, as well as other systems across the country.
Salisbury's stellar first-week lineup of guests includes comedian Adam Sandler, whose new film Sandy Wexler recently premiered on Netflix, talk show host Larry King, Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon, two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash, actor Kim Coates, Basketball Hall of Fame great Isiah Thomas, and Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett, who is the projected as the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Salisbury brings a diverse set of experiences to the show. He had a 10-year career in professional football as a member of the Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, San Diego Chargers and even a brief stint with our Houston Oilers. Prior to the NFL, he led the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League to a Grey Cup championship.
He has also had a number of TV and radio jobs, including serving as an NFL analyst on ESPN’s SportsCenter and NFL Live, and co-starred in the 2006 movie The Benchwarmers.
Salisbury joined Gow Media three years ago and has hosted shows on Gow’s local stations as well as on the company’s national sports radio network, SB Nation Radio. The Sean Salisbury Show can currently be heard weekdays from 3 pm until 7 pm in Houston on SB Nation Radio 1560 AM and by podcast.
"I have never been more excited in my career than I am for this show," Salisbury said. "This validates hard work, resilience and preparation. I am blessed with a special team and honored to join beIN SPORTS and grow our show into a must watch and listen."
Salisbury is joined on the show by Brian Barrett and Robin Carlin. Show producer Adam Sager is also a regular contributor.
Barrett is a homegrown product of Gow Media, joining the company several years ago as an update anchor. His role on the SB Nation Radio network has grown from anchor to fill-in to now a daily co-host of the Sean Salisbury Show. Barrett is a graduate of Syracuse University.
Carlin joined Gow Media as a co-host on The Sean Salisbury Show in January. Previously, she was a significant contributor to the Denver Post and Mile High Sports. She has a finance degree from University of Mississippi.
In February, Gow Media announced the acquisition of CultureMap.com, the leading online destination for lifestyle content in Texas. At the time, Gow highlighted the company’s transition from a sports radio company to a multi-platform media company. The new partnership with beIN SPORTS certainly reinforces Gow’s direction.
