A very merry time
Santa and River Oaks elves make special house call: Holidays brought to Texas Children's patients
Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers rang in the merry, merry season with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus at a party hosted by two River Oaks ladies who keep the spirit of giving going all year round.
Sidney Faust and Cora Sue Mach are widely known for their philanthropic endeavors but none is more endearing than their “trick or toy” Halloween party that they host each October. For this lively midday gathering, friends are asked to bring toys, which in December are delivered to youngsters in the hospital at a holiday party.
The generous duo was joined by a few friends to host the Santa bash at the hospital where a juggler and face painter joined Mr. and Mrs. Claus for the fun.
Each child attending got to select a toy. After the party, the volunteers headed off to the inpatient cancer floor to deliver gifts to the youngsters who weren’t able to sit on Santa's lap.
