Party Time
Artsy friends and philanthropists turn out for elegant birthday party that's one to remember
The cake? An Italian cream monster so moist you could take a bath in it. The décor? Chic silver and black to complement the charming gent that the event celebrated.
The crowd? A melange of upper echelon philantropists, artsy friends, family and loved ones, all gathered at the Asia Society Texas Center to sing their best birthday wishes to one happy fellow who's always there when you need him.
What a bash it was for John Bradshaw Jr.'s 45th as some 200 Houstonians joined in to hug the birthday boy, who was classically dressed in a white button down and an elegant black pin stripped velvet dinner jacket. Beaming from ear to ear as he was showered with gifts and greetings, the Asia Society Texas Center deputy director was as giddy as a school boy, encouraging guests to indulge in an array of delicious bites from City Kitchen that included pad thai in take out containers, spicy sandwiches and beef lettuce wraps.
The elegant affair left everyone thinking: What will John do for his 50th? Well, he has another five years to think about it.
In the crowd were his father, John Bradshaw Sr., Jo and Jim Furr, Kathy and Glen Gondo, Asia Society executive director Bonna Kol, April Lykos, Alecia Lawyer, Diana and Chase Untermeyer, Chau Nguyen and Kent Shaffer, Robert Sakowitz, Miya Shay, Kellye Sanford and Fritz Lanham, Karen Bradshaw, Marcel Witte and Minnette Boesel.
