Splitsville: Songman Steve Tyrell and Karen Pulaski call it quits
Just under a year after their snow-kissed nuptials, Houston piano man Steve Tyrell and interior designer Karen Pulaski finalized their divorce in a Harris County courtroom on Monday.
Pulaski filed for divorce in October and her attorney, Alvin Zimmerman, described the proceedings as "amicable," a status that had been called into question with Tyrell retaining high-powered divorce shark Bob Piro.
The split would be slightly more shocking if Kim Kardashian hadn't already set the bar for short marriages this year with her 72-day union. Still, Pulaski and Tyrell's Christmas ceremony at The Carlyle in New York featured a guest list of A-listers including Bill and Hillary Clinton, Regis Philbin and Joe Torre. A monster blizzard in New York prevented several Houstonians from attending the nupitals.
Tyrell, 66, opened his seventh consecutive holiday engagement at the The Carlyle in late November and will be performing at the fabled hotel through New Year's Eve.
Are you surprised by the split?
