Lee Ann Womack, Doppleganger & Back to the Ranch keep Stehlin crowd boot dancingwith hope
Long known for its lively musical entertainment and dance fever that sweeps through the ever-loyal crowd, the Friends of the Stehlin Foundation Gala proved true to tradition at the Westin Galleria with a night of music and toe-tapping that lived up to the "We Hope You Dance!" theme.
After all, who could deny the the music of Lee Ann Womack and her hit I Hope You Dance that inspired the gala theme? And who wouldn't want to get on the dance floor after watching the energized U.S. Open West Coast Swing Champions?
That was the plan for the 31st annual gala, chaired by Nancy White, Lin Mills Smolensky and Donna Lewis. They were surely kicking up their heels over the $500,000 proceeds generated by the crowd of 450.
The invitation called for "black-tie and dancin' boots" and most of the guests obliged thereby fitting right in with the Back at the Ranch country trio that kicked off the musical evening. Following Womack's concert, Doppleganger took over the stage and inspired the foot loose scene that went on until 1 a.m.
Tapping their toes into the wee hours were Sally and Bobby Anderson, Dr. Sherry and Brooke Ingraham, Elizabeth and James Snyder, Ashley and Keith Pettibon, Sue and Dana Vardeman, Susan and Robert Lanzini, Donna and Norman Lewis, Roseann Rogers, Rena and John Rossitto and McComb Dunwoody.
