Only hours before heading to Austin for the Circuit of Americas race competition, Formula One driver Felipe Massa made the chicest of pit stops at the swank new Hublot boutique in the Galleria. Representing Scuderia Ferrari, Massa joined Hublot notables in the ribbon cutting that marked the grand opening even though the shop has been open long enough to sell a good number of the sophisticated, luxury timepieces.
For the opening of this 10th storefront in the United States, Hublot introduced its Big Bang Ferrari Texas, a 50-edition collection of numbered pieces. Hublot describes the watch, "In navy blue, red and white, as seen on the state flag, the Big Bang Ferrari Texas features a bold titanium case (45.5 mm diameter), crowned with a cylindrical bezel in black ceramic which draws the eye down towards the UNICO Flyback chronograph movement visible through the sapphire dial."
Welcoming guests to the sleek boutique were Jean-Francois Sberro, Hublot CFO, and Giancarlo Orlando, vice president of Hublot Joint Venture, and store manager Isabel Sorum.
