More than 60 reasons to celebrate the Houston Cinema Arts Festival as the partying begins

The scoop: Houston Cinema Arts Society executive director Trish Ridgon and festival artistic director Richard Herskowitz welcomed more than 250 film enthusiasts and revealed the full line-up of more than 60 films that will be screened November 12-19.
In further news of the night, Dan Jacobs, manager of International Partners for the International Space Station Program at NASA, revealed the 16 finalists for the inaugural CineSpace short film competition. Key guests joining him were NASA astronaut Don Pettit, who helped judge the CineSpace submissions, and Michael Suffredini, former manager of the space station program who facilitated the partnership with the festival.
