The scoop: Hilling captivated guests with his talk on the collaboration between France and Afghanistan and between the Aga Khan Development Network and La Chaine de l'Espoir in establishing a children's non-profit hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan, where one child in 10 does not reach the age of five. He has written a book, A Place of Miracles, which covers the success of the program that he says has saved the lives of thousands of children.
