Jenna Bush Hager keeps a family tradition alive to the delight of Houston's lunching ladies
The Bush family legacy of philanthropic largesse continues through the generations as evidenced by Jenna Bush Hager, when she helped Small Steps Nurturing Center raise $180,000, as both guest speaker and co-chair, during the non-profit's annual benefit luncheon at Houston Country Club.
With Lisa Malosky serving as emcee, Bush Hager entertained the 400 guests in the country club ballroom with remarks on her experiences as an inner-city teacher, as a UNICEF volunteer and as a correspondent for Today. And, of course, there was the playful update on the various members of the presidential Bush family.
Sharing the role of luncheon co-chairs with Bush Hager were Marie Louise Kinder, Lacy Rieke, Helen Schmidt, Elizabeth Jeffers, Susan McConn and Jennifer Moore.
The "Small Steps Nurture & Nourish Luncheon" enjoyed a stylish turnout that included Leticia Trauber, Isla Reckling, Angie Reckling, Jennifer Murchison, Lilly and Thurmon Andress, Vicki West, Tiffany Wong, Jessica Brazelton and Missy Massey.
