Hot new restaurant unveils Spanish delicacies and astounding artwork for a good cause
After a sneak peek for foodies the night before, BCN Taste & Tradition owners Isabella and Ignacio Torras invited friends of Texas Children's Hospital for an early look-see at the Montrose area eatery which officially opens on Saturday (Sept 20).
Chef Luis Roger put on a multi-course Spanish-inspired dinner that included poached quail eggs in a potato foam with truffles and lobster bouillabaisse with rice. "We're going to offer 100 percent Spanish food," Roger told CultureMap in late August.
The menu sampling doubled as a launch for the annual TCH "What's Up Doc?" benefit dinner set for Nov. 11 in the TCH Pavilion for Women. "What's Up Doc" chairs Karla and Jorge Goudet were among those admiring the sleek museum-like interiors featuring original art works by Picasso and Miro.
Notable guests included Patty and Craig Biggio, Marianne and Bob Ivany, Dr. Olutoye Olutoyin, Neil and Elizabeth Chapmen, Quin and Jane Hebert, Selina and Dr. Randy Ellis and Claudia and Roberto Contreras.
