Shelby's Social Diary
The fabulous peacocks of men's fashion gather to preen and socialize at NeimanMarcus
We can hardly think of a more dapper fellow than George Lancaster, Hines senior veep of corporate communications and man-about-town. So it couldn't be more fitting than to have him as host for Neiman Marcus' Fall 2013 Men's Trend Event.
Lancaster was the perfect fashion collaborator for Neiman's men's fashion director Matthew Singer, the dashing thirtysomething fashion whiz who flew in from his New York base to share the intel on this season's top looks. Think "mixed berry" colors, motorcycle jackets, evening jackets, brightly-colored corduroy slacks and patterned suits.
Jim McAlister and Nixon Wheat were among the first to launch the credit card frenzy, both buying the very cool Etro dinner jacket.
For the occasion, Lancaster stepped out in a Tom Ford navy blazer, Ralph Lauren dress shirt in lavender, Charvet tie, J Brand denim jeans and Alexander McQueen brown wing tips.
Lancaster and Singer, along with Neiman's GM Bob Devlin (a tall, dark and handsome gent in his own right), shared the spotlight in the men's salon where a mini-catwalk and seating had been set up for the presentation. The bubbly flowed and serious hors d'oeuvres were passed as guests were encouraged to shop, shop, shop.
In fact, Jim McAlister and Nixon Wheat were among the first to launch the credit card frenzy, both buying the very cool Etro dinner jacket that was shown moments earlier on the runway.
Joining Lancaster in the fall fashion education were Michael Landrum, Garrett Hunter, Libby Cagle, Lauren Taft, Chase Dreyer, Chris Ellerman, Leonard Rutan, Chris James, Jimmy Warner, Ed Finger and Evelyn Dorsey.
