In The Pink
Glittering tiaras and pink pop beads lend glam notes to Recipe for Success kickoff at Elaine Turrner
Recipe for Success founder Gracier Cavnar made sure that her kick-off for the 2015-16 fundraising season was a meaty proposition. And we're not talking the tasty fare that came from neighboring Peska but rather the substantive issue of childhood obesity.
Guests meandered through the chic pink Elaine Turner boutique in BLVD Place, purchasing pink pop beads that would lead to goodies such as glittering pink tiaras, opportunities to win one of Turner's iconic handbags and discussions on the non-profit's programs. Twenty percent of sales on this evening went to Recipe for Success.
Welcoming more than 100 guests were event hosts Dress for Dinner chair Carrie Colbert, Arvia Few and Kristen Berger.
Guests had the opportunity to share their favorite food memories with Sharron Melton, their remembrances recorded for the foundation’s Dinner Conversations project to be unveiled for the 10th anniversary Delicious Alchemy celebration in May 2016.
The evening also served to announce the series of delicious fundraisers, the first one up on September 23 at Sloan/Hall where Lucy Sykes, fashion stylist and author of The Knockoff, will be special guest at the fashion show/dinner evening. CultureMap's Clifford Pugh will do the interviewing honors at the dinner and will huddle with Sykes at upcoming New York Fashion Week to make plans.
The party crowd included Karen and Roland Garcia, Wondy Weston, Bob Cavnar, Dr. Yasmine Haddad, Donae Chramosta, Alex Blair, Leisa Holland-Nelson, Parrisa Mohajer, Alan Pike, Jackie Fair and Christine and Matt Tabrizi.
