Ride 'em cowboys and cowgirls! It was a boot-scootin' good time for Ronald McDonald House
Who knew you could have so much fun on a sweltering August night in H-Town? Apparently plenty of the Young Friend's of Ronald McDonald House got it. More than 500 of them turned out for the third annual "Country Ball" at the Firehouse Saloon.
How could the party miss with the Mark McKinney band kicking off the night with a country twang that inspired plenty of two-steppin' around the dance floor. Once headliners Seth James and Cody Canada from Cross Canadian Ragweed took the stage it was all-out rockin' fun.
Part of the entertainment was the barbecue cooking cook-off, a culinary competition between Ronald McDonald House supporters who strutted their beefy stuff in the form of brisket, burgers and ribs and threw in some barbecued chicken for protein balance. And the winner was — the team from Walmart! It was a Texas feast for all.
Among those dancing, dining and bidding on silent auction items were Jennifer and Brett Walker, Leigh Savage, Mikki Donnelly, Emily and Darrin Warr, Jennifer and Mason Woodard, Erin and Matt Hader, Emily Christopherson, Ebony and Warrington Goudeau and Melinda and Matt Mogas.
