There could not have been a more colorful summer social than the packed scene at Tootsies for Women of Wardrobe's 11th annual Sizzling Summer Soirée. More than 300 members of Dress for Success' young professional troupe circulated through the West Ave emporium dressed in a vibrant palette of frocks and shorts, sharing summer travel stories, job talk and baby tales.
By all accounts, the evening was a smashing success. Just ask Lauren Levicki Courville, Dress for Success vice president. "This is the largest one we've had yet," she said. "It's so nice because Houston is so open and because Houston is so transient now. It's a great city to meet people and these young professional groups are great for that."
Among leaders of the pack of these Cute Young Things were soirée chairs Lyndsey Zorich, Katy Mayell Ellis and Julia Chen. While YPs are the target, Women of Wardrobe parties are geared for supporters of all ages. "We don't card anyone as long as you are young at heart," Levicki said.
Joining the chairs on the welcoming committee were WOW president Paige Branam, Tootsies Fady Armanious and popular jewelry designerClaudia Lobao and Black Halo's Laurel Berman, both of whom had trunk shows going during the evening.
The high level of girly enthusiasm, backed up by the beats of DJ London, was fueled by the steady flow of Slim Ritas and wine as well as by munchies from Armandos, Radical Eats, Local Foods and Eddie V's and healthy nibbles from Lisa Pounds' Green Plate Foods.
Stepping out in style were Kristy Bradshaw, Linsay Radcliffe, Rachel Walton, Carrie Carson, Bethany Buchanan, Rachel McNeill, Jessica Jaggard, Brittney Jaggard, Christen Hobbs, Hallie Vanderhider, Lisa Argon, Mandy Kao, Karina Barbieri and Cheryl Bynington.
