Summer party scene heats up with cool young professionals at CultureMap Social
Forget the withering heat outside, the partying was trés cool inside at quirky 1919 Wine & Mixology on Wednesday when CultureMappers, 250 strong, proved that even the dog days of summer can be socially invigorating. Particularly when El Jimador is providing its Mango Mango and Lime tequila flavors for cocktails and grown-up snow cones.
The after-work crowd of young professionals prowled the various spaces of the uber-decorated wine bar such as the Lexington Room and the intimate Mixology Room, where the popularity of the tequila-laced snow cones kept the bar tenders hustling. DJ Bizonee spun the discs while Smilebooth provided photo opps with El Jimador's masked gent.
Corner Table, which adjoins the bar, provided sustenance for the summer partying in the form of citrus ceviche, crispy egg rolls, grilled prawns, Moroccan lamb meatballs, cauliflower soup shooters and a tempting array of desserts from pastry chef Alyssa Dole. Mango curry mint cupcakes, anyone?
Beneficiary of the mid-summer good will was Plant It Forward, which had representatives on hand to explain the urban farming concept. Also vying for YP attention were volunteers from CultureMap's party partners Blondes vs. Brunettes, Camp for All and Houston Food Bank's f.r.e.s.h..
Chilling in the cool party atmosphere were Katy and Mat Ellis, Kelcy Mayell and Nik Kapetanakos, Jessica Nimon, Andrew Rentz, Ellen Gaines and Chris Maraldo, Ramon Carey, Michelle Moreno, Daniel Pereya, Todd Ramos, Bridgette Barrow and Lindsay Mays.
