Bar celebrates first anniversary with carnival games and colorful mural as iconic artist joins in
What: Revelry on Richmond first anniversary bash.
Where: At the upscale craft beer and sports bar in Montrose.
The 411: Puppies Behind Bars was beneficiary of the celebratory afternoon that featured not only popular carnival games — bobbing for beers, plinko and a dunking booth — but also the unveiling of Hanh Tran's outdoor mural saluting Revelry as a Houston institution at only a year old. The mural's swats of bold color feature bluebonnets, an oil rig, a Longhorn steer, the all-important "We (heart) Houston" greeting and more. Joining Tran in the unveiling was 88-year-old artist David Adickes, who created the "We (heart) Houston" sculpture on the Katy Freeway as well as other life-sized sculptures, including the Beatles.
Who: Revelery GM Brian Davey, Beth Muecke, Hector Villarreal, Jared Lang, Rebecca Hunter, Manny Salazar, Evan Golden, Marty McVey, Michelle Hulse, Kylie Wade, Abbey Jackson, Okwha Birtle and Mandy Lou David.
