Furniture design envy runs high during swank party at hot new JANUS et Cie digs
Lucky the architects, landscape architects, design community players and their clients who had first views of the new JANUS et Cie digs in the former Smith & Hawken building on San Felipe. For they were the first to see the full line of indoor and outdoor furnishings in a party atmosphere where company president and CEO Janice Feldman pulled out the stops.
To insure that the evening hit just the right note with these 150 design enthusiasts, showroom manager Marvin Comeaux brought in the David Caceres Trio to provide cool tunes while staff from A Fare Extraordinaire swirled through with tempting trays of hors d'oeuvres and specialty cocktails.
The importance of this opening was noted in the turnout from headquarters in the Los Angeles area. The group included Soren Clausen, VP of international operations who had flown in from meetings in Singapore to attend.
Among guests perusing the firm's latest interior and exterior furniture, textile and accessories collections were Chandos Dodson, Chelsea Cunningham, Steve Varney, Jim Hardeway, Karen Shulte, Jennifer Roosth, Holly Moore, Debbie Jeffares, Miguelina Veras, Katie Woodruff, Kim Kanaly, Zina Sharif, Simona Furini and Marquez Colby.
