Ted Williams of the golden vocal chords of YouTube fame shares his story for TheWomen's Home
One-time radio announcer Ted Williams — who garnered YouTube fame last year with his rich, melodic voice — talked about his one year of sobriety, his reunion with his mother and his second chance with a radio career at the Lester and Sue Smith Luncheon Series benefiting The Women's Home.
As he chatted with luncheon emcee Channel 13 KTRK news anchor Melanie Lawson on stage at the Hotel InterContinental, Williams proved to be humorous, charismatic and sincere. Williams is on tour for his book Golden Voice: How Faith, Hard Work and Humility Brought Me From the Streets to Salvation. He was accompanied by his sobriety coach Eric Harding.
As part of the program, Lester Smith shared his story of recovery from alcohol abuse.
In the crowed that turned out in support of the non-profit and to have books signed were Sue Smith, Trish Morille, Glenn Godkin, Karen Marti, Gerry Thielemann, Tracey Brashears-Schultz, Charolette Carter, Linda Piper and Paula Paust.
