The scoop: Local celebrities played waitstaff for a night at the annual Escape for a Cause fundraiser and dining event. Nearly 300 guests were greeted by media and society stars Ernie Manouse, Lara Bell, Johnny Bravo, Andy Cerota, Michael Chabala, Amber Elliott, Shara Fryer, Michael Garfield, Jeff Gremillion, Courtney Zubowski Haas, Steve Johnson, Todd Ramos, Roseann Rogers, Robert Sakowitz,and Cleverley Stone. The celebs mixed and mingled with the guests, and assisted in the dinner service, raffle, wine pull, and auction.
Founding chairs Joan Schnitzer Levy and Gerald Franklin, along with dinner chair Kim Padgett,hosted the event, which paired dinner with wines from Becker Vineyards. The night raised more than $300,000 raised towards the mission of Escape Family Resource Center to keep vital programs in nearly 80 locations every year and end the cycle of abuse and neglect for children.
Honoree and Grammy award winner Steve Tyrell performed to packed room and surprised guests with an auction package to see him perform in Tuscany in October.
