Full party throttle ahead: Young professionals morph into captains & maidens forHermann Park
On any given day, the lawn hugging McGovern Lake at Hermann Park is a serene backdrop dotted with strolling families meandering about the bridges, basking in the genteel waters and listening to the sounds of the sparkling fountain.
But on Thursday night, thankfully Mother Nature held her wrath just long enough for the banks of the man-made mere to morph into a hot al fresco nightspot fitting for the chic throng of 400 nature-loving captains and maidens at Urban Green's "Come Sail Away" — pedal boat rides at dusk included.
With white loungers alongside the Ai Weiwei's Zodiac heads, it may have been a stylish thump-thumping Ibiza club where seafarer fashions were in vogue. These young professionals took the nautical theme to heart: Dapper gents in khaki shorts, penny loafers, blazers, captain caps and the occasional neckerchief mingled with darling gals in navy stripes and over-the-shoulder cardigans.

While some opted for the high-decibel DJ MAV grooves and depleted supplies of Saint Arnold Brewing Company suds and frosty Cuba Libres by Under the Volcano, adorable couples drifted hand-in-hand for a tête-à-tête rendezvous overlooking the sunset.
