Due in a few
TV news star Dominique Sachse and Nick Florescu launch a pregnancy pin that ends the guessing game
If it's a girl, you'll select the pink ribbon with drop heart. For a boy, the blue ribbon. And if you don't know or want to keep the sex of your gift from the stork a secret, you select the white pin. Hello, Due in a Few, the new venture of KPRC Channel 2 news anchor Dominique Sachse and Centrade president Nick Florescu.
Known as one of the most glamorous couples on the social scene, the duo can now add "entrepreneurs" to their public CVs. The two designed the ribbon pin, which they expect to become a universal symbol of pregnancy, as a business opportunity and as a way to support the national March of Dimes. A portion of proceeds from sale of the pins will benefit the non-profit. Due in a Few is the only start-up company included in the charity's 2013 "I'm Born To" campaign.
Between them, the couple (they were married in May) has six children and, as Dominique explained, each is considered a gift, thus the bow design for the pregnancy pin.
Even before the baby bump becomes apparent, soon-to-be moms can announce their upcoming bundle of joy by wearing the pin. And, as Dominique said, this small piece of jewelry takes the guessing game out of early pregnancy. How often have we wondered about the status of young women passing on the wine and martinis? She must be pregnant, right?
The pins, priced at $9.99, are available online here.
