A three-hour lunch? Fab fashion & a super chef keep the stylish more thanentertained at Lucinda Loya's
One long table set for 48. One stellar designer — Lubov Azria. One super chef — Monica Pope. And one killer hostess — Lucinda Loya. Add a bevy of high-style gals and a few fashion guys and you get the picture of Thursday's BCBGMaxAzaria luncheon in the Loya home.
But the image would not be complete without considering the stunning parade of 32 fall looks from BCBGMaxAzria, presented poolside.
The luncheon invitation advised that doors to the Stablewood modern manse would open at noon and dessert would not be served until shortly before 3. What could possibly take place in three-hour interval? Lots of socializing over mimosas and lemonade laced with vodka (or not). Loads of personal interaction with the affable designer. Plenty of fashion advice from the BCBGMaxAzria team — nine flown in from LA and New York to guarantee a perfect fashion presentation — and a handful of execs from the boutique in the Galleria.

Lucinda and Javier Loya have been opening their home of late for a steady round of designer parties but for this one there was a special connection. Lucinda and BCBGMaxAzria regional visual manager Ali Martin are first cousins and when the plan to come to Houston was first kicked about, Ali knew just the house and just the hostess to tie it all together.
As Lubov visited with the fashionable young group, she allowed that the firm does these parties around the country but in each city the format differs. From Houston, they were on to Dallas. Before that, they had done these fashions socials in Miami, New York and in her own home in LA.
Leading the Houston fashion contingent was Houston brand ambassador Meredith Riddle, CultureMap senior sales exec, and Galleria store manager Rachel Hansen.
Lapping up the the fashions and many among them wearing the oh-so-chic yet affordable label were Katie Brass, Stephanie Perkins, Heather Staible, Katy Atlas, Libby Cagle, Allison Bagley, Todd Ramos, Brandy Anderson, Elizabeth Petersen and Tonya Riner.
After the fashion parade, the group sat down for a tasteful lunch, orchestrated by luncheon partner Bon Appetit magazine and prepared by t'afia chef Monica Pope, who offered commentary on the three-course menu. In short, it was a delicious day.
