Lynn Wyatt for the cover of Vogue: That's the consensus of supermodels and I Am Waters fans
Even a pride of sleek and gorgeous models from the pages of top fashion magazines could not dim the star power of the I Am Waters luncheon honoree — Lynn Wyatt. As the supermodels gathered on stage at River Oaks Country Club for the annual fundraiser, they nominated La Wyatt for the cover of Vogue.
The subject was prompted by emcee Janet Shamlian, NBC News national correspondent, who brought up the controversial Vogue cover featuring Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Tony Spinelli made the nomination that was immediately accepted by Chandra North, Stephanie Romanov, Jeff Aquilon, Rachel Hunterand Julie Anderson. And the ballroom guests applauded in agreement.
It was just that sort of day of the unexpected including the presentation by the stunning Hunter of a birthday cake to John Havens, who with his wife, Terri, were major underwriters of the fundraiser. The Salvation Army's Harbor Light Choir sang "Happy Birthday" as the cake was delivered.
Luncheon chairs Debra and Mark Grierson and Phoebe and Bobby Tudor were joined at their respective tables by one of the supermodels as were big supporters including Laurie and Tracy Krohn.
The program included inspiring words from I Am Waters founder Elena Davis, from board president Jim Pierce and from Sister Maureen O'Connell, executive director of Angela House.
Applauding the I Am Waters cause were Laura Sweeney, Bob Devlin, Tricia Dewhurst, Susie Criner, Milton Townsend, Jana Arnoldy, Janet Hobby, Joan Schnitzer-Levy, Tina Pyne, Michelle Hevrdejs, Ceron, Patty and Bill Porter, Dabney Pierce, Mica Mosbacher, Betty Newton and Greg Davis, husband of the I Am Waters founder.
