Big guns are hot: Shooting and shopping for good adds up to major money for MFAH
What:Museum of Fine Arts, Houston 21st annual "Fine Art of Shooting: A Sporting Clays Invitational."

The 411: Baby, it was cold outside but the shooters were red hot as they took their places at the clay shooting stations at 9 a.m. By the time the competition had ended, just in time for lunch courtesy of the Coronado Club, Charles Moyse prevailed as Best Overall Men’s Champion and Laurie Morian won kudos as Best Overall Women’s Champion.
The winners were announced by invitational chairs Alice and Keith Mosing, who welcomed the group of 270, 170 of whom were shooting participants. The day raised $236,000 for MFAH coffers. Winning the title of Master Class Men's Champion was Harry Mach while Sydney Longman scoring as runner-up. Master Class Ladies' Champion was Melanie Rothwell with Joella Mach coming in as runner-up.
For those not shooting, there was plenty of shopping with enticements such as leathers form Maida's Belts & Buckles, Dos Carolinas guayaberas and James Purdey & Sons.
