Steaming hot young professionals face off in the ultimate food fight: Local TV news star helps judge
What:Casa de Esperanza's fifth annual Young Professionals Chili Cook-Off.
The 411: Thirty-three teams put their best efforts into their steaming pots of chili as more than 500 ready-to-party chili enthusiasts boot-scooted through the outdoor cooking scene. The Mavens provided the requisite two-steppin' tunes while six celebrity judges did the tasting.
Getting their fill of the big red were judges Lily Jang of KHOU Channel 11, Texas Tequila & Margarita Festival co-founder Mike Cortez, Urban Swank co-founders Shanna Jones and Felice Sloan, Gratifi Kitchen + Bar owner Kevin Strickland and CultureMap restaurant guru Eric Sandler.
Top prize for the best big red went to the "West Chilidelphia Born and Raised" team comprised of William Reynolds, Henson Barnes, Matthew Goldsby, Scott Ivers and Kyle Mathis.
