A little night music from a DJ, good eats and fun art make Ceron Salon swing
Ceron Salon took on a fresh vibe Friday night when youthful painter Caroline Schiller and equally-fresh photographer Carmen Reed presented a one-night exhibition of their work for a well-heeled posse of fans.
Paintings large and small and tinted photographs lined the walls of the contemporary salon space in Uptown Park. A bounty of Mediterranean hors d'oeuvres, channeling the menu from Schiller Del Grande's new Ava in West Ave, filled the salon counters with mouth-watering temptations. A DJ blasted hip tunes, and wines from Italy flowed as guests perused the artwork and schmoozed.
Proud parents Candice and Lonnie Schiller, a part-owner in CultureMap, led the mix that included cross-generations of art lovers. Each of the young artists sold five pieces during the cocktail reception.
The younger crowed included Brendan Murphy, Lauren Wymes with Ellis McConn, Tessa Del Grande, Bebe Mandola, Aimée Robert, Ken Carroll, Andrew Bean and Katie Neal.
KPRC news anchor Dominique Sachse took a break between newscasts to accompany Nick Florescu to the party where Roz and Alan Pactor made a pass through on their way to Steve Susman's 70th birthday party at the Huntingdon. Mark Sullivan, loving his amnesty night from the Snap Kitchen 21-day program, sipped a glass of Pinot Grigio. In all, more than 100 guests joined the lively scene including Beth and Shahin Zamir.
