Flamenco dancers, red roses galore and a big honor for Carolyn Farb make this Spanish night
If the flamenco dancers weren't enough to inspire a Castilian mood, then surely the bountiful red roses in the Hotel ZaZa ballroom and the red scarves worn by waiters effectively delivered on the "Night in Spain" theme of the fourth annual Devereux fundraiser.
More than 220 gathered to raise funds for Devereux programs that aid children and young adults dealing with emotional development issues. Leading the charge was gala chair Larry Strader, who applauded O'Rourke Petroleum and its presidentMushahid Khan for serving as presenting sponsor.
Carolyn Farb was honored with the "Emy" Award, recognized for her varied community service. The award is named after Emyre “Emy” Barrios, a beloved community leader.
Helping raise funds for the non-profit were Margaret Alkek Williams, Jim Daniel, Betty and John Hrncir, Gordon Strobeck, Claudia and Roberto Contrerras, Misty and Mush Khan, Joy Partain, Gina and Dr. Devinder Bhatia, Marie Myers and Christian Bruns and Devereux president and CEO Bob Kreider.
