Houston billionaire continues his love affair with Presidential power, engaging George W. Bush in Vegas
Once again, billionaire hospitality mogul Tilman Fertitta has surprised attendees at his annual Landry's Leadership Conference at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas by presenting former President George W. Bush as guest speaker in a spicy Q&A with Fertitta as host.
Last year, former President Bill Clinton was the surprise guest. Previously, the Landry's CEO had engaged former President George H. W. Bush and former Mexican president Vicente Fox also took the spotlight.
Bush 41 was welcomed with a standing ovation by the 1,300 executives, general managers and vendors attending the 10th annual leadership conference.
Their discussion centered on leadership, dealing with crisis and Bush's views on the economy.
Monday night, guests poured into Fremont Street to experience a special Landry's laser light extravaganza — a specially produced light show that highlighted all of the Landry's concepts. Each restaurant concept was represented with elaborate food stations including Mastro's, serving its most popular Warm Butter Cake.

It's a particularly busy time of year for Fertitta, who as sole owner and chairman of Landry's Inc, was recently in New York to co-host Bloomberg TV's Market Makers along with anchor Stephanie Ruhle and guest anchor William D. Cohan.
Next week, Fertitta returns to Houston to host, with his wife, Paige Fertitta, the 19th annual San Luis Salute, the Mardi Gras bash that has redefined partying for Houston and Galveston.
