Hot New York entrepreneur returns home to Houston to try and change the city's food scene with tech savvy
New York-based entrepreneur and investor Emily Keeton returned to hometown Houston recently to launch her food discovery app FLAVOUR, her concept of a dining guide, which is already established with apps in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and beyond.
The good news, it's free. The so-so-la-la news, it's available here exclusively for the iPhone. Once downloaded, you'll find close to 400 restaurant options categorized by neighborhood, cuisine and occasion.
To celebrate the launch, Keeton hosted a soirée in the Penthouse Suite at Hotel Derek where chefs Jose Hernandez of Radio Milano, Alex Padilla of Ninfa’s on Navigation, Omar Pereney of Peska, Shannen Tune of Revolve Kitchen + Bar and Kiran Verma of Kiran’s Restaurant & Bar presented some of their signature dishes and mixed it up with the foodie crowd.
Joining the launch party were Keeton's mother, Susan Keeton, and her brother, John Keeton. Legacy Restaurants owner Niel Morgan, Julie Soefer, Lizzie Sullivan, Joe Abuso, Terry Wayne Jones, Ceron and Todd Fiscus and Gracie and Bob Cavnar were in the mix.
