Going to the Southside
New Houston sporting club and bar ups the game with grilled oysters, Cajun faves, and premium spirits
There's a new bar on the block in Stafford, and it's promising guests an original, kicked-up experience. Forget beer and wings. Think grilled oysters and Hennessy-based cocktails.
Southside Sporting Club, located at 11110 W. Airport Blvd., quietly opened in December. The 30,000-square-foot bar and restaurant describes itself as offering "a fun, elevated, adult playground vibe." Sports fan will find more than 75 big screen HDTVs and a state-of-the-art game room and arcade.

It's the creation of ALife Hospitality Group, familiar to Houstonians as the brand behind Midtown's Lost & Found, the Galleria-area patio bar Kamp Houston, and Stick Talk Cajun-Hibachi, among others.
Designed as a spot that can handled everything from a casual fan dropping in for a brew to energetic watch parties by devoted fans to corporate events, Southside Sporting Club has put as much of an emphasis on its food and drink as it has on its mission to be a go-to sport for gameday.
Guests can expect menu items such as boudin balls, Bang Bang Shrimp, red beans and rice, gumbo, and loaded nachos on its Texas-Cajun-inspired menu, along with an array of barbecue favorites like brisket, pulled port, sausage, ribs, and chicken.
On the drinks front, the bar promises a selection of domestic, imported, and craft beers, along with a diverse wine list. Cocktails include options like the G.O.A.T, a combination of Hennessy, tequila , and raspberry liqueur served in a large carafe, and the Space Mountain, a shareable drink made with Casamigos Tequila, orange juice, passion fruit syrup, and champagne served in a giant wine glass.

“This concept is truly next level,” said Jonathan Reitzell, co-owner of Alife Hospitality Group in a statement. “We’ve put together a lineup of the best menu items and signature cocktails from some of our most popular concepts and brought them all together under one roof to give our guests the best of the best in social dining in an exciting, interactive, premiere sports club atmosphere. There’s nothing quite like it in the area and we think Houston is going to love it.”
The bar and restaurant will host its official grand opening soon. Southside Sporting Club is open open Monday through Thursday from 4 pm to midnight, Friday from 4 pm to 2 am, Saturday from 11 am to 2 am, and Sunday from noon to midnight.
