Wildly popular Austin burger joint reveals opening date for Clear Lake-area location
Calling all Clear Lake-area diners: the time has almost come to start lining up for Llano Poblano burgers and boozy milkshakes.
Austin-based burger chain Hopdoddy announced it will open its new Baybrook location on December 17 at 11 am. Located at 820 W. Bay Area Blvd., the new restaurant joins Snooze, Mod Pizza, and Main Squeeze Juice in the Baker Katz development.
Houston's fifth Hopdoddy location also features the restaurant's latest menu that includes dishes such as Buffalo fries and a Nutella chocolate pretzel milkshake. The Big Parma, this month's entry in the restaurant's rotating "Brew Series," features a chicken parmesan patty with IPA pomodoro sauce, mozzerella cheese, and basil mayo.
Known almost as much for its long lines as for its food, Hopdoddy offers an array of patty choices (beef, chicken, tuna, veggie, etc.) with a wide variety of toppings; in addition, the restaurant bakes its buns in-house and offers beverage options that include both a number of Texas craft beers and affordable cocktails. All of these factors have made the rapidly expanding burger chain a runaway success since Houston's first Hopdoddy opened on Memorial Day weekend in 2016 at River Oaks District.
Since then, Hopdoddy has added outposts in Vintage Park, Rice Village, and CityCentre. A sixth location will open in Braun Enterprises' Heights Waterworks development in early 2019.
The company donates $1 from each Goodnight Burger to local charities. In two-and-a-half years, it has raised over $120,000 for The Periwinkle Foundation, Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, and the Texas chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. That's a lot of money to good causes for one burger.
