Best tailgate ever? All-star chefs to turn a high-end restaurant into MondayNight Mayhem
The Houston Texans' Monday Night Football showdown with the New England Patriots doesn't happen until Dec. 10, but it's never too early to start planning your tailgate. After all, by then the team could have won 11 games — that's as many as the franchise won in its first, second and fourth seasons combined.
In honor of the Texans taking on the Patriots, who are trying to overtake them for the AFC's No. 1 playoff seed, chef Ryan Hildebrand is organizing the first-ever Monday Night Mayhem at Triniti, a foodie-friendly tailgate that will transform the restaurant's parking lot into a cheering section watching the game on giant screens both indoors and out.
The foodie-friendly tailgate will transform the restaurant's parking lot into a cheering section.
The tailgating festivities begin at 4 p.m., with gameday fare from an all-star lineup of chefs including Hildebrand, Monica Pope of Sparrow, Roost's Kevin Naderi, Ronnie Killen of Killen's Steakhouse, Branch Water Tavern's David Grossman and many more. Bobby Heugel of Anvil is preparing a punch service especially for the occasion, and guests will also enjoy beer from Karbach, No Label, Southern Star and Saint Arnold as well as a variety of cocktails featuring Crown Royal, Angel's Envy bourbon and Aviation gin.
Tickets are $49 per person and include all food and drinks, plus a Monday Night Mayhem T-shirt for the first 100 revelers. As if great food and drinks and cheering on the Texans weren't reason enough for some Mayhem, the event also supports OKRA, the Organized Kooperative on Restaurant Affairs, and the Boys and Girls Club of Houston.
