Your guide to the great hybrid holiday: All hail Thanksgivukkah!
With the first day of Hanukkah falling on Thanksgiving this year, Lily Jang of KHOU 11 News talks with Eatsie Boys' Matt Marcus and CultureMap's Eric Sandler on how to best celebrate Thanksgivukkah.
Combining classic Thanksgiving and Jewish recipes, Marcus' Thanksgivukkah creation, the potato latke slider, brings the best of both holidays together in one sandwich. The slider is made with turkey, stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce, all sandwiched between two crispy potato latkes.
With dishes like sweet potato latkes, pecan pie rugelach, and cranberry-applesauce, Sandler says that combining the two holidays to create a Thanksgivukkah hybrid is easier than you think.
If you're not looking to bake anything for the holiday this year, Three Brothers Bakery has some great Thanksgivukkah options like their pumpkin-filled sufganiyot.
