If I was the Barefoot Contessa, you'd have to drag me kicking and screaming from my casually stunning mansion in East Hampton.
But the Contessa herself, Ina Garten, is on tour promoting her new book, Foolproof, with an appearance on Monday at noon at Sur La Table in River Oaks, and even contessas have to eat.
Garten started her day in Houston at the Four Seasons Hotel with a breakfast at Quattro, where she had a bowl of granola with yogurt and fresh fruit. She was spotted in deep conversation with interior designer Randy Powers, specialty homebuilder Carol Barden and Paper City editor-in-chief Holly Moore.
Garten needed the nourishment, because our spies report that the line of fans waiting to meet her at Sur La Table stretched for several hundred yards.
