Beer Garden Ahoy!
Midtown's getting a new beer garden — with top pizza restaurant power
New Living owners Monte Large and Adam Brackman are working to develop a 12,000 square-foot beer garden in Midtown. Dubbed the Victory Beer Garden, Brackman says it's too early in the project to divulge many details but he tells CultureMap that the beer garden will have a "synergistic partnership" with neighboring restaurant Luigi's Pizzeria.
For example, herbs grown in the beer garden will be used on Luigi's pizzas and Eater Houston notes that Luigi's pizza will be available in the beer garden.
Brackman says he and his partners have been working to develop the piece of property that his family owns for "a couple of years," but only moved the project to the "front burner" recently. He predicts that Almeda will be the next section of Midtown that's "set for revitalization."
The process is still very early in the permitting stages, so it's hard to predict the timing. Still, if the number of Luigi's fans who posted to the comments of CultureMap's recent article on Houston's Best Pizza is any indication of the restaurant's overall popularity, the addition of a well-decorated spot to consume craft beer nearby will be welcome.
