Doggie Dining
Slide into fall with Houston’s perfect pairing: a patio, your dog, and you
In Houston, "patio weather" comes twice a year: spring and fall. Now that temps are finally cooling (at least a bit) and autumn is on its way, it's time to head outside and enjoy eating and drinking al fresco.
What could make that experience even better? If your dog gets to join you. At International Smoke, Fido is more than welcome on the expansive patio.
The global eatery from celebrity chef Michael Mina and celebrity entrepreneur, TV host, and New York Times bestselling author Ayesha Curry focuses on wood-fired cooking with local ingredients, and its bold menu displays innovative steaks, seafood, and ribs alongside a bevy of crave-able vegetable options.
Your pup even gets his own menu of tasty yet doggie-safe dishes, such as a slow-smoked beef bone, an assorted selection of biscuits, and the Doggy Loco Moco, a concoction of ground beef and steamed rice.
Meanwhile, you get to indulge in three varieties of smoked St. Louis-cut pork ribs (American, Mexican style with golden garlic sweet and sour, and Korean style with sesame-gochujang), the Cherry-Bomb Burger (topped with pickled cherry peppers, grilled onions, and fontina cheese), fried chicken in a buttermilk brine (served with whipped potatoes, duck fat gravy, and smoky greens), or rib tip mac and cheese.
Obviously, your four-legged friend will have water to lap up while you can choose from these awesome drink specials. On Wednesdays, enjoy half off bottles from 4 pm to close or swing by for late-night happy hour, Monday through Friday, from 9 pm to close. That's when it's $2 off all craft cocktails and draft beers, wine is $6, and there's a library of spirits from around the globe that the dedicated team can walk you through.
As an extra fall bonus, bottomless rosé is available for $15 every day from 3 pm to close, only through October. Better hustle out to CityCentre, and don't forget to bring the leash.
