Veteran Dallas-based pizza restaurant bakes up first Houston location
A Dallas-based purveyor of oval-shaped pizzas has set its sights on Houston. Pie shop i Fratelli Pizza announced on social media that it will soon open a Houston location in the Energy Corridor at 11300 Katy Fwy.
Franchisees Callie and Bruce Redden have a long history with the brand. Callie Redden grew up in the Dallas suburb of Coppell, near i Fratelli's 30-year-old original location in Irving.
“Callie and I are thrilled to be joining the i Fratelli Pizza family and are excited to open a Houston franchise," Bruce Redden said in a statement. The great people of Houston will no longer be deprived of the best quality pizza!"

The restaurant is known for its signature, oblong-shaped pies, thin crust, and generous toppings. With 13 locations across Dallas and its northern suburbs — as well as two in Austin — i Fratelli has been on an upward trajectory.
In response to CultureMap's request for comment, i Fratelli representative Rachel Black explains the company chose the location due to its proximity to both corporate clients (the restaurant is known for its catering business) and residential areas. A diverse menu that includes vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options helps ensure the restaurant can please a crowd.
"At i Fratelli Pizza we pride ourselves on exemplary service," Black writes. "Our managers write handwritten thank you notes weekly. We call back after the order to make sure everything went perfectly following a large delivery . . . When a driver leaves the store with your pizza, getting it to you hot is our only priority."
But i Fratelli won't be the only pizza purveyor in the area. Pizaro's Pizza, widely considered among the best in Houston, will soon open its new Memorial-area store nearby at 11177 Katy Fwy. This new location will match the Montrose store's menu, which means diners will be able to order Neapolitan, New York, and Detroit-style pies.
