Food truck vendor shot on the job outside of a Houston club
It only takes a little bit of Google sleuthing to conclude that Club Gator, on Elysian Street and Euel Street, isn't the kind of place I want to spend my evenings.
In the wee hours of Thursday morning, a food truck vendor selling snacks and beverages to Club Gator clientele was held up at gunpoint outside the club.
When the vendor tried to drive away in his truck, the robber opened fire. The vendor was shot in the neck — and then subsequently crashed and flipped the truck several blocks down the street. Thankfully, the victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition. The Houston Police Department has not identified the name of the man's food truck or if it even had one (indications are this was a low-key, barebones food-selling operation).
It can be dangerous to sell food to intoxicated munchers at 2:30 a.m., especially outside a club that is mostly otherwise noted for a fatal shooting in 2008.
