A comfy Textile: Scott Tycer goes casual with Kraftsmen Cafe
If Scott Tycer's Textile was a fabric, it would be silk charmeuse — expensive, elegant and challenging. Now he's aiming for jersey cotton — comfortable, versatile and still high quality,
Almost three months after the shuttering of the pocket-sized project in the Heights, Tycer has revealed plans to convert the location into Kraftsmen Cafe.
The concept will be similar in look to the Kraftsmen Baking Cafe on Montrose, with coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries, and affordable food.
"This will be more of a café than simply sandwiches and salads," says Tycer's assistant Catherine McQueen on what would differentiate the new location. "We have the full kitchen here so the food options will include things like pastas, burgers and other meals for lunch and dinner."
Kraftsmen Cafe would have the added benefit of a rare liquor license in a dry part of the Heights, serving beer and wine at lunch and dinner. (Tycer got permission by listing Textile as a private club.)
Tycer told Cleverley Stone that he expects to open Kraftsmen Cafe in November.
