A New Steakhouse
A new steakhouse grille is set to shake up the greater Houston restaurant scene
Looking to appeal to a younger demographic and offer a more affordable dining option that works as a weekly destination rather than one only for special occasions, a well-established national steakhouse chain is opening a more casual sibling this Tuesday in The Woodlands.
Although it sounds like Houston is getting a second Del Frisco's Grille, this time it's the Landry's owned Morton's chain that's launching a new grill concept.
Morton's Grille's menu centers around sharable plates, flatbreads and American classics entrees.
For those who've dined at the West Ave competitor juggernaut, the formula will sound familiar. Morton's Grille's menu centers around sharable plates, flatbreads and American classics entrees while still offering USDA Prime steaks that the original is known for.
Examples include short rib sliders and tuna poke in the appetizers, a barbecue chicken flatbread and oversized sandwiches like a Reuben and French dip. In addition to sharable food, there are two "punch bowl" cocktails designed to serve four to six people. The Bachelorette Punch combines rum, triple sec, coconut water, lime, pineapple and sparking wine for a sweet, fruity flavor profile.
Both the punch bowls and a full cocktail menu are the centerpiece of the Monday through Friday happy hour that runs from both 4:30 to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. until close. Bar bites will be priced at $6, $7 or $8.
"The casual, yet sophisticated, atmosphere of the Morton’s Grille will allow greater accessibility for guests. The menu at Morton’s Grille will incorporate some of the classic steakhouse items as well as what are sure to be new favorites,” Landry's senior vice president Tim Whitlock said in a statement.
So The Woodlands get a new happy hour hotspot with a solid looking menu that further cements the suburb's status as one of Houston emerging dining destinations. Who's hungry to try it?
Morton’s Grille will be open Sundays through Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
