Motorcyclist killed in crash allegedly caused by a controversial restaurant's valet: A fatal bad turn?
A 26-year-old motorcyclist died Thursday night after colliding with a valet driver working at a bistro run by one of Houston's most legendary and controversial restaurateurs.
KHOU Ch. 11 reports that a valet parking cars for chef Bruce Molzan's Corner Table was driving a black four-door BMW when he fatally turned in front of a Honda motorcycle.
The Houston Police Department tells CultureMap that both the victim and the valet were traveling east along Westheimer near Virginia Street. When the BMW turned right from wrong lane, the motorcyclist was unable to stop in time and crashed into the right side of the sedan.
The unidentified victim was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation is underway while Harris County district attorneys decide whether to press charges. So far, no citations have been filed and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Corner Table management has not yet responded to CultureMap's request for comment.
