24-Hour Cupcake ATM
24-hour Cupcake ATM to rock Houston's dessert world: Late-night sugar addicts rejoice
If a cupcake craving strikes at midnight, Houstonians are pretty much forced to turn to inferior, grocery store products to satisfy their needs. That's all going to change this fall.
Houston will be the fourth city with a Sprinkles Cupcakes ATM when the bakery's location in Highland Village (next to the Apple store) joins Dallas, Chicago and Beverly Hills as cities where cupcakes can be purchased 24-hours a day without any messy human interaction.
Houston will be the first city to receive Sprinkles' second generation ATM.
"We're supposed to receive the machine at the end of September," Sprinkles president Charles Nelson told the Chronicle, but he declined to specify an exact date. "I wish I could predict the construction and delivery dates of things."
Houston will be the first city to receive Sprinkles' second generation ATM. Unlike the suddenly passé original in Dallas, the new version can serve up to six cupcakes at a time and only takes 30 seconds to dispense a cupcake.
The three other originals will be replaced in time, but Houstonians get the first one.
Good news for people who need a last minute red velvet fix and want to take a few extras to go.
