A Market Square revival: Local chain moves in, filling closed restaurants void
Jul 12, 2012 | 10:49 pm
The streets lining Market Square Park lost two restaurant tenants in the past eight months, ERA pizzeria and Convey Sushi. Now it looks like that trend is turning around, with a popular local chain making plans for a new location in the historic quadrangle.
Barnaby's Cafe owner Jeff Gale told Prime Property that he is opening a fifth location in August in the former Convey space on the corner of Congress and Milam, next door to Les Givral's Kahve.
Gale (who named Barnaby's after his late dog) says he likes the location next to the dog park and that he plans to keep the downtown café open for lunch Monday through Friday, eventually adding breakfast and potentially including weekend and dinner service as well.
