Montrose, Rice Village, The Heights, Cinco Ranch and now . . . northwest Houston. Torchy's Tacos strikes yet again.

The Austin-born chain with a cult-like following is expanding its Houston footprint yet again, setting plans to open its fifth restaurant in the area. The new Torchy's is going into The Vintage, a mixed-use development at the corner of Louetta and Cutten roads.

This comes on the heels of Torchy's just opening its new Katy area restaurant earlier this month. And it continues to signal The Vintage's push to emerge as a big-time foodie destination. A 44,000-square foot Whole Foods is already set to open in the complex on Wednesday.

The new Torchy's hopes to open in the fall. It continues the Austin food invasion that's hit Houston over the last several years — one that shows no sign of slowing down.
