- Farewell to the Kobe meatballs with rigatoni.
Sad news, CultureMappers: Chef Michael Dei Maggi and crew are calling it quits at The Rockwood Room.
The Tanglewood spot with upscale comfort food opened last fall and seemed to get lost among the shuffle of new high-end restaurants with marquee names, though it snared its share of regulars. (Among them: Roger Clemens.)
I, for one, will lament the loss of Rockwood's amazing fried chicken and great Manhattans.
Fans of the restaurant and newbies who want one last chance to see the corner spot in action can head over tonight where the staff is cooking up one last hurrah.
Dishes and drinks will be name-your-own-price, as they announced on their Facebook page:
SO LONG ... AND THANKS FOR ALL THE MEMORIES!!
Tonight will be the last dinner service of the Rockwood Room ... .please join us at our own wake ... for a night of food, drink and amigos ... ALL FOOD MUST GO ... no reasonable offer will be refused ... thanks again ... and see you all as we plod the path of happy destiny ...
